Zivtech is an Open Source Drupal web development shop with a beautiful office at 15th and South St in Downtown Philadelphia. We build web sites with the powerful content management system Drupal and are passionate about open source, being involved in Drupal's thriving community, and having a fun work environment.
We work with many exciting clients and do not accept projects that our developers do not find challenging and enjoyable. We build political (liberal) sites, music sites, university sites, ecommerce, and much more. We also work extensively integrating Drupal with other technologies such as Flash, DocBook, MediaWiki, YouTube, etc.
We're seeking smart, motivated people at all levels of experience, from those who are fast learners and excited to enter this rewarding field, to those who are already Drupal and/or PHP, MySQL, LAMP, or CSS experts. You should be looking to work in-house full-time, although we can be flexible about many things for talented individuals. Pay rate will depend on your relevant experience and ability and will scale with your growing skills.
For positions other than internships, we require a bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of relevant experience. You will be expected to contribute to the Drupal project as part of your work routine and will be compensated for time spent contributing on tasks of your choice that benefit the community.
Here are some of the items we're looking to hire for:
Theming: We are not looking for designers at this time but are looking for people with CSS skills.
Coding: We have lots of opportunity for both experienced and novice developers. Those with a PHP background or experience in another language can learn Drupal's APIs at work. We stress coding standards and doing things the right way from the start, as opposed to asking you to pull all-nighters where you crank out sloppy code. We do a lot of custom module development.
Site Building: Those without coding ability can learn to do much of the work of building Drupal sites through its web-based admin interface. Fast learners with some technical background can get up to speed and thrive at site architecture work.
Interns: College students or those without relevant experience may apply for paid internship positions. If you are serious and self-motivated, we would love to help you learn Drupal to prepare for a career.
If you're interested in joining our thriving, growing business and doing cutting-edge open source development, email resume, a cover letter or statement of purpose, and salary requirements to firstname.lastname@example.org (no calls please). If you have been involved in Drupal or any other open source community in the past, please include a link to your contributions.
With nearly two decades of professional technology experience, Alex oversees all business functions at Zivtech and Probo.ci, from sales and marketing, to client relations, human resources, and business strategy.
